Kumba in Busch Gardens Tampa ( Tampa , Florida , USA ) is a steel roller coaster of the Sitting Coaster model by the manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard , which was opened on April 20, 1993 in what was then Busch Gardens Tampa . Kumba means something like roar in the African Congo language .

It was the manufacturer's first roller coaster of this model. It was also the world's first roller coaster with a dive loop .

journey

The 41 m high descent of the 44 m high lift hill leads into the 35 m high loop , through the center of which the lift hill rail runs. On the other 1213 m long route there is a dive loop and a zero-g-roll . The Cobra-Roll and the Interlocking Corkscrews each consist of two inversions , so that the track has a total of seven inversions.

Trains

Kumba owns four trains with eight cars each. Four people (one row of four) can be seated in each carriage. Shoulder straps are used as a restraint system.

Although Kumba has four trains, only three trains can be used at a time. The fourth train exists so that the railway can operate at maximum capacity even when a train is being serviced.
