The Heringsdorf art pavilion in the Baltic Sea resort of Heringsdorf on the island of Usedom has existed since 1970. The Kunstpavillon Working Group was responsible for the pavilion until 1989, and from 1991 the Usedomer Kunstverein e. V. The pavilion sets standards with changing exhibitions of well-known and young artists, concerts, readings and an annual art auction .

history

In 1970 the pavilion, designed by civil engineer Ulrich Müther , was built on the Heringsdorf beach promenade . Its circumference is 52 meters, the greatest internal height of its folded ceiling is 4.60 meters, with an exhibition area of ​​around 80 running meters. The opening took place with a first exhibition by nine artists based on the island of Usedom. After the fall of the Wall , some of these artists founded the Usedomer Kunstverein e.V. to continue operating the art pavilion. V. Participants in the establishment of the association and the artistic advisory board included Roger David Servais , Matthias Wegehaupt , Sabine Curio, Oskar Manigk , Peter Dulke, later Ricarda Horn, Volker Köpp, Franka Keil and Sibylle Leifer.
