Art Association Passau

The Kunstverein Passau is an art association founded in Passau in 1949 . The founding members included the municipal legal adviser Hans Hirsch (1906–1978), the painter Otto Zieske (1902–1985), the sculptor Otto Zirnbauer (1903–1970) and the graphic artist Max Reinhart (1924–2016).

The association understands its task in the promotion of contemporary fine arts and their artists. The Kunstverein Passau is constituted as a registered association . As of 2015, the art association had around 1,100 members.

The secular St. Anna chapel in Heilig-Geist-Gasse in Passau's old town, formerly part of the Franciscan monastery of St. Anna, is a fixed location for the exhibition program . The Kunstverein has published the biannual magazine Passauer Kunstblätter since 1988 .
