Kurt Aebli

Kurt Aebli (born October 20, 1955 in Rüti ZH ) is a Swiss writer .

Life

Kurt Aebli studied German, history and ethnology at the University of Basel . Today he lives in Nenzingen (district of Konstanz). Long stays in Vienna , Paris , Sofia , Berlin . The author of poetry and prose took part in the Klagenfurt Days of German-Language Literature in 1991 and 1996 and was a guest at the meeting of Group 47 in Prague in 1990 .

Awards

In addition to various grants, Aebli received an individual work award from the Swiss Schiller Foundation in 2004 and an honorary gift from the Canton of Zurich in 2005. In 2008 he was awarded the 1st Basel Poetry Prize.
