Kurt Billker (* 1954 ) is a German jazz - drummer .

After training at the Rheinische Musikschule Köln, Billker studied drums with Christoph Caskel from 1972 to 1976 at the Hochschule für Musik Köln . During this time he was already playing in the quintet Key , which had already performed at the German Jazz Festival in 1974 . Then he played with Wolf Burbat in the rock jazz group Katamaran . Since 1980 he played in numerous projects with Lajos Dudas . For a long time since 1981 he was a member of the bands of Christoph Spendel and Axel Fischbacher ; he also worked for Jan Kazda and Wolfgang Schmidtke . In recent years he has worked regularly with Philipp van Endert .

Billker was also involved in television and radio productions. a. with Randy Brecker , Tony Lakatos , Michal Urbaniak , Annie Whitehead , Lee Konitz , Steve Lacy or Attila Zoller . He performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival , the Leverkusener Jazz Days and the North Sea Jazz Festival . He was also involved in the recordings of Tom Mega and Alex Oriental Experience . He also teaches at the music school in Neuss.
