Christoph Caskel
Christoph Caskel (born January 12, 1932 in Greifswald ) is a German concert drummer and music teacher .
Since the early 1960s, Caskel was best known for his performances of chamber music and solo works of new music (such as Stockhausen's cycle for a percussionist, 1959 ) and performed internationally as a concert drummer .
In 1963 he received the support award of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia for music .
Since 1975 he has been professor for timpani and drums at the Cologne University of Music . His students included u. a. Manos Tsangaris , Janos Darvas, Thomas Oesterdiekhoff, Sascha Dragićević , Peter Hänsch, Nicholas Bardach, Paul Lovens , Thomas Meixner, Olaf Normann, Robert Schäfer, Jonathan Funk, Hans Ulrich Humpert , Michael Küttner , Frank Köllges and Peter Eisheuer .
He also devoted himself to teaching beginners on the drums; this resulted in " Snare Drum ... step by step ... ", a drum school for beginners aged 8 to 80.
