Peter Eisheuer

Peter Eisheuer (* 1957 in Viersen ) is a German jazz and classical drummer, pianist and composer.

Life

Peter Eisheuer first received violin lessons at the age of seven, but at the age of eight he devoted himself entirely to drums, which he worked on for the first time at the age of two. At the age of 9, the first sound recordings were made with the writer Reinhard Kaiser , who was the pianist. At the age of 12, Eisheuer had his first paid appearances in the dance music genre through the mediation of his school principal at the time. Shortly thereafter, recordings for Collata Verlag followed , such as “You are the light of the world” and “You are the salt of the earth”.

In the spring of 1976 Eisheuer passed the entrance examination at the Berlin University of the Arts . In autumn of the same year at the Cologne University of Music , today Cologne University of Music and Dance . His teachers there were Christoph Caskel , Klaus Runze and Dario Gomez.

In 1980 Eisheuer switched to the Aachen Institute to study there. In 1983 he moved to the Nordwestdeutsche Musikakademie Detmold , Institut Dortmund, and in 1986 passed the concert exam.

Eisheuer made international appearances as a jazz drummer, largely as an integral part of the trio around the American pianist Ron Wilson with Cecil Payne , Gene Conners , Margie Evans , Leo Wright , Wallace Davenport , Hal Singer , Bud Freeman , Eddie Vinson , Jeanne Carroll , Earle Warren and Benny Waters . For a short time Peter Eisheuer was a permanent member of the Gene Conners Band , in which bassist Bert Thompson also played. He also played with Matthias Schubert, Nicolas Simion , Heiner Wiberny a. a. Eisheuer u. a. at the Leverkusener Jazz Days 1980 with Jeanne Carroll, at the Viersen International Jazz Festival 1987 under his own name a. a. with the saxophonist Jan von Klewitz . As a classic drummer, Eisheuer u. a. at the Witten Days for New Chamber Music in 1981 with the singer Nelly Lee .

Eisheuer composed music for the writer Rolfrafael Schröer to the text “Children's Crusade”, wrote pieces for the percussion ensemble “Cena”, which can be heard on the LP of the Kreismusikschule Viersen, as well as the music for the film Die weisse on behalf of the German Film Museum in Munich Desert (silent film by Ernst Wendt from 1922).
