Kurt Bohr
Kurt Bohr (born January 1, 1947 in Hintertiefenbach , Birkenfeld district ) is a Saarland lawyer, politician ( SPD ) and sports official.
Life
From 1966 to 1970 he studied law and received his doctorate in 1975 at the Saarland University in Saarbrücken . In 1985 he became State Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Sport of the Saarland, and from 1991 to 1996 he headed the State Chancellery of Saarland under Prime Minister Oskar Lafontaine . As State Secretary and later as Head of the State Chancellery, Kurt Bohr was a key initiator during the establishment of a newer Saarland cultural policy in the 1980s and 1990s.
In 1996 he was elected as director of Saarland Sporttoto GmbH and Saarland-Spielbank GmbH to succeed Alfred Holzwarth. In 2007 Bohr left this position.
Other activities
Bohr works on a voluntary basis in numerous associations and clubs. Among other things, he was President of the Saarland Gymnastics Association, Vice President of the State Sports Association for Saarland and Chairman of the Saarland Society for Cultural Policy. He is also the managing director of the Saarkultur publishing house, authorized to represent the company, and publisher of the Saarland culture magazine " Opus ", which was founded in 2007 .
