Kurt Golde (born July 23, 1914 ; † unknown) was a German football player. For SG Gera-Süd and their successor communities, he played between 1949 and 1953 in the top division of GDR football .

Athletic career

Although gold after the end of World War II was already 31 years old, he participated in the revival of football in Gera . First he played for SG Gera-Zwötzen and then moved to SG Gera-Süd in 1948. With her he won the Thuringian Football Cup in 1949, which the SG Gera-Süd secured participation in the first competition of the East German FDGB Football Cup in the same year . The Geraer advanced into the final, where they met with Golde as the central midfielder on the BSG Waggonbau Dessau . Gera-Süd lost the final 0-1, but secured a place as a cup finalist in the East German soccer zone league, which was held for the first time in 1949/50 (later DS-Oberliga, GDR-Oberliga ).

Already 35 years old, Golde was part of the Gera zonal league squad and was also part of the team in the first league game. With only a few failures, he played 20 of the 26 point games and was twice successful as a goalscorer. His only zone / Oberliga goals remained, but he remained with the Gera Oberliga team until 1953. In the 1950/51 season he was part of the regular team until the 25th matchday, but then fell out for several point games and only made 22 appearances in 34 match days. In 1951/52 Golde was still in the Gera squad, who in the meantime competed as BSG Motor, but for a long time it seemed as if he would not return to the top division. But when defender Gerhard Friemel was out four game days before the end of the season, Golde was still used for four games as a right defender. This prompted coach Büchner to nominate the now 38-year-old Golde for the 1952/53 season. Golde thanked him with solid performances that brought him another 21 league appearances. In the last point games he had also taken over the training of the team, but could not prevent relegation from the league. That was the sign for him to retire as a football player.

After his career as a football player, Golde was still active in the third-class district league at BSG Progress Weida in the 1950s . In the early 1960s he coached the second team of BSG Wismut Gera (successor to Motor Gera), which also played in the district league.
