Kurt Hubert Vieth

Kurt Hubert Vieth (born January 4, 1916 in Hindenburg (Upper Silesia) , † 1993 ) was a German architect and construction clerk . Among other things, he participated in the reconstruction of the city of Bochum and was then construction consultant in Herne and Rheydt .

Vieth studied 1937 to 1941 at the Technical University of Wroclaw , the subjects architecture and urban planning , 1943, he received his doctorate under Ernst Bode for Doctor of Engineering (Dr.-Ing.) Until 1945, he worked as head of the construction office in Opole . Via the state planning office in Münster he came to Bochum, where he was responsible for the reorganization plan in the planning office from 1947 to 1949. In addition to his full-time activity, he led the reconstruction of various Bochum churches, including the Marienkirche . From 1950 Vieth was head of the planning office in Herne, in his spare time he was initially still involved in the reconstruction of Bochum churches. After 1958, a new church was built under his direction with the Bochum Heimkehrer Dankeskirche . From 1962, Vieth was the town planner in Rheydt until 1975, when Rheydt was merged with Mönchengladbach .
