Kurt Langethal

Kurt Langethal (born September 21, 1924 ) is a former German football player who was active in Weimar , Thale and Gera in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

Kurt Langethal was first noticed in national sports reporting when he became soccer champion in Thuringia with the KWU Weimar company sports association in 1950 . The BSG qualified for the 1950/51 season of the GDR league via a promotion round. With his five goals in eight qualifying games, Langethal played a key role in the Weimar promotion success. During this season the name of the BSG in Turbine Weimar was changed. In the league, Langethal was only used in the second half of the season and was only used in six league games in the months of January to March 1951. He came, usually called up in midfield, one goal. At the end of the season Weimar rose from the league.

Langethal then moved to the upper division Stahl Thale . There he was used from the first day of the 1951/52 season and, now playing in the storm, won a regular place in the team of BSG Stahl with 33 appearances in 36 point games.
