Kurt Looby
Kurt Looby (born February 17, 1984 in Saint John’s ) is an Antiguan basketball player .
The 2.08 m tall and 109 kg heavy power forward began his professional career in 2008 in the NBA Development League at Rio Grande Valley Vipers . He then played for Albuquerque Thunderbirds and Maine Red Claws . In 2010 he moved to Greece for one season at GS Peristeri and then joined the German Bundesliga club EnBW Ludwigsburg in 2011 .
Despite an existing contract in Ludwigsburg, Looby played in the first division of Puerto Rico during the summer break of 2012. Since Ludwigsburg refused to move him, he played without the club's consent. After repeated requests to appear on fixed dates, Looby was banned by the FIBA world association for serious violations of existing contracts. In October 2012, the parties finally agreed to terminate the contract and Looby was given clearance to switch. He then signed a contract with Trefl Sopot in Poland. For the 2013/2014 season Looby returned to Germany and joined the Telekom Baskets Bonn .
