Kurt Müller (born February 2, 1903 in Berlin ; † June 26, 1944 in the Brandenburg-Görden prison ) was a German carpenter and resistance fighter of the European Union group . Kurt Müller was a half-brother of Ilse Stöbe .

Life

Kurt Müller was arrested and beaten during an attack by the SA in 1933 , which broke his jaw. He supported his sister and her fiancé Rudolf Herrnstadt in their resistance work with logistical assistance and had contact with the organizational remnants of the KPD underground organization. When his sister and then his mother were arrested in September 1942, he went into hiding and lived in various pensions and arbours . He was able to maintain his contacts with the communists as well as with bourgeois resistance groups. He provided the KPD with basic materials on the establishment of illegal company groups and the disruption of war production to Georg Groscurth and motivated him to actively work in the resistance. Müller took part in several meetings and discussions of the European Union and supported them in the reproduction of pamphlets. He also found accommodation for those persecuted for political and racist reasons.

Because he was trying to save the Jewish Wolf family, he was caught in the wave of arrests in September 1943 that affected Groscurth, Havemann , Rentsch and Richter . He was beaten half-blind during the torture of the Gestapo in Prinz-Albrecht-Strasse .

The second main trial of the People's Court concerning the European Union in April 1944 was conducted against Kurt Müller and others and Kurt Müller was ultimately sentenced to death.
