Kurt Neumann (politician, 1927)

Kurt Neumann (born March 5, 1927 in Alzey ; † May 28, 2018 there ) was a German administrative officer and politician ( SPD ).

Life

Neumann attended elementary school from 1933 to 1941 and the commercial vocational school from 1941 to 1944, while he completed an administration apprenticeship from 1941 to 1944. In 1951 he passed the first and in 1965 the second administrative examination. From 1948 to 1967 he was chairman of the staff council at the Alzey district administration and later an office manager at the Alzey-Worms district administration, most recently as a senior official.

politics

In 1956 he joined the SPD and from 1960 was a member of the local association board and in 1973 the local association chairman of Alzey. Since 1972 he has been a member of the SPD sub-district executive in Alzey-Worms. In 1960 he became a member of the Alzey City Council and in 1969 an alderman, later first alderman (building department).

On June 16, 1982 he replaced Walter Zuber in the ninth state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate, to which he belonged for two electoral terms until 1987. In the state parliament he was a member of the interior committee (9th electoral term) and the committee for agriculture, viticulture and forestry (10th electoral term).

He also was a member of the supervisory board of energy and water supply Alzey, the board of the reconstruction fund, the German Trade Union Federation , the trade union public services, transport and traffic , in the Industrial Union Construction Minerals and the police union .

In 1987 he received the Federal Cross of Merit, First Class. In 1992 the Alzey City Council granted him honorary citizenship.
