Kurt Schröder (politician)

Kurt Schröder (born December 13, 1906 in Bad Hersfeld , † September 6, 1964 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German administrative officer and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

Kurt Schröder was the son of the warehouse keeper and later Prussian social democratic member of the state parliament Karl Schröder . After completing primary school at the Reform Realgymnasium in Osterode am Harz, he did an internship at the district administration in Osterode in 1925/26. From 1927 to 1930 he completed an apprenticeship at the Hanover Police Headquarters for the career of senior police administration officers, then entered the municipal Prussian civil service and was also active in the Reich service until 1945.

Schröder worked from 1945 to 1947 as a department head at the AOK Osterode Kassenverband . He then switched to the state service, initially worked in the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Interior in 1947/48 and finally became head of the public order office in the Osterode district . He was also a member of the board of directors and chairman of the supervisory board of Spar- und Bauverein eGmbH Osterode since 1946 and a member of the supervisory board of the non-profit Kreiswohnungsbaugesellschaft mbH Osterode since 1950.

Political party

Schröder joined the Socialist Workers' Youth (SAJ) in 1921 and was chairman of the SAJ district association in Hanover from 1928 to 1933. In 1925 he joined the SPD.

MP

Schröder was a member of the German Bundestag from 1957 until his death. He first moved into parliament via the Lower Saxony state list and in 1961 won a direct mandate in the Harz constituency .

Public offices

Schröder served from 1950 to 1961 as senior district director of the Osterode district.
