Kurt Sucksdorff
Kurt Sucksdorff (born May 10, 1904 in Stockholm ; † January 1, 1960 there ) was a Swedish ice hockey goalkeeper .
Career
Kurt Sucksdorff began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown, where he was active for IFK Stockholm from 1922 to 1927 . The goalkeeper then played for seven years until the end of his career for IK Göta , with whom he won the Swedish championship three times in a row in 1928, 1929 and 1930 .
International
For Sweden , Sucksdorff took part in the 1928 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz , where he and his team won the silver medal. As the best European team at the Winter Olympics, he and his team won the European championship. He was also in his country's squad for the 1931 World Cup . In the latter, he achieved a shutout against Canada on February 6, 1931 , making him the first European goalkeeper who remained clean at a World Cup against a North American team.
