Kurt Wiegel (born November 18, 1951 in Rimlos ) is a Hessian politician ( CDU ) and a member of the Hessian state parliament until 2019 .

education and profession

After graduating from elementary school in Lauterbach , Kurt Wiegel did an agricultural apprenticeship from 1967 to 1970 and attended two winter semesters at the agricultural school from 1970 to 1971. He has been working as a freelance farmer since 1980. In 1982 he passed the master's examination as an agricultural master.

Wiegel is Protestant, married and has three children.

politics

Wiegel has been a member of the CDU since 1978 and from 1982 to 1988 a member of the CDU City Association of Lauterbach.

From 1982 to 1998 he was a member of the Lauterbach city council, since 1998 a member of the district assembly of the Vogelsbergkreis and from 1991 to 1998 and since 2001 a deputy member of the regional assembly of Central Hesse . Wiegel has been a member of the state board of the Hessian CDU since May 2008.

Wiegel was a directly elected member of the Vogelsberg constituency in the Hessian state parliament from April 5, 2003 to April 5, 2008 . In the state elections in 2008 he lost his mandate, in the state elections in 2009 he was able to win back 41.5% of the first votes . In the state parliament he is a member of the European Committee, the Environment Committee, the Main Committee and the Financial Controlling Sub-Committee. He no longer ran for the state election in 2018, the direct mandate was won by Michael Ruhl (CDU).

Wiegel is a member of the advisory board of Volksbank Lauterbach-Schlitz eG , chairman of the Vogelsberg district farmers 'association and a member of the association council of the Hessian farmers' association .
