Kurt and Erika Schrobach Foundation

The Kurt and Erika Schrobach Foundation is a nonprofit conservation - Foundation under civil law.

It was founded in 1991 by the married couple Kurt and Erika Schrobach. The purpose of the foundation is biotope protection , i.e. the preservation and development of near-natural, landscape-typical and endangered habitats with their flora and fauna.

It works closely with locally anchored clubs and associations. The interests of the municipalities, agriculture and forestry or tourism are taken into account in order to come to amicable solutions.

The Schrobach Foundation's sphere of activity extends to the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein. With currently around 2900 hectares of secured area, it is the largest private nature conservation foundation there.

The work of the foundation focuses on various priority areas in Schleswig-Holstein:

It is also the sponsor of a nationwide project for the protection of bats as well as participating in the federal projects “The Scheidige Yellow Star (Gagea spathacea) in Germany” and “The importance of ash dieback for the biodiversity of forests and strategies for their conservation”.
