Kurth-Bodo Blind

Kurth-Bodo Blind (born May 19, 1945 in Zell an der Pram , Upper Austria ) is a former Austrian politician ( FPÖ ). From 1991 to 2008 he was a member of the Vienna State Parliament and City Council .

Kurth-Bodo Blind was born as the fourth child of his parents Wilfried and Margaretha Bild, geb. Skupa was born. His father had fled the Soviet troops from Vienna as a “ Reichsdeutscher ” from the Rhineland and was captured by the Americans in Zell an der Pram. Blind's mother, who was born in Austria, gave birth to her child in Upper Austria. The brothers of his grandfather Karl Wilhelm Blind were involved in the Baden revolution in 1848 . Karl Blind and Valentin Blind were sentenced to death, but not executed. Karl Blind's stepson, Ferdinand Cohen-Blind , carried out an assassination attempt on Otto von Bismarck in 1866 .

Kurth-Bodo Blind is married to District Councilor Elfriede Blind and has a son (* 1975), who is also District Councilor and District Chairman in Penzing, and a daughter (* 1977) who was elected Miss Vienna in 1996 .

School and professional career

Kurth-Bodo Blind studied for his education law and entered a resounding fraternity at. He worked at Siemens from 1966 and between 1970 and 1996 at NCR . In 1996, Blind founded his own IT company.

Political career

Kurth-Bodo Blind joined the FPÖ in 1974 and was initially a member of the district management of the Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus district group with his wife . Between 1977 and 1979 he was a member of the district management of his home district of Penzing . Between February 1979 and May 1979 Blind was deputy chairman in Penzing and from May 1979 to February 1981 as well as June 1990 and February 1991 executive chairman. From February 1991 Blind was chairman of the FPÖ Penzing.

Blind had already become a district councilor in Penzing in 1987. After his election in November 1991 to the Vienna state parliament and local council , Blind left the district council. From 1991 onwards, Blind represented the FPÖ in the local council and state parliament and, according to his own statements, concentrated in his work on the areas of pools, markets, urban transport companies, IT and housing. Kurth-Bodo Blind characterized his basic attitude by saying the collapse of the monarchy: “The rest of Germany is Austria!” And advocates “ that Austria remains German ”. On June 25, 2008, Blind left the state parliament and municipal council and retired. His successor was Helmut Günther .
