Kurumi Island ( Japanese く る み 島 Kurumi-schima , German ' Walnut Island ' , Norwegian Kalvholmen ' Kalbinsel ' ) is an island off the Prince Harald Coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It is located in the Flatvær archipelago between Ongulkalven and Ongul Island .

Norwegian cartographers mapped them using aerial photographs of the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 . Scientists of a Japanese Antarctic expedition carried out from 1957 to 1962 carried out measurements and the descriptive naming. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names transferred this in 1968 in a partial translation into English.
