The KFFK / Short Film Festival Cologne (formerly the European Short Film Festival Cologne UNLIMITED ) is a multi-day short film festival that has been taking place every November in Cologne since 2006 .

Profile of the festival

The German competition forms the core of the festival program . The favorites of the more than 700 entries (as of 2017) compete in five thematically structured programs. In addition to three jury awards, an audience award is also awarded. International short films, on the other hand, find their place in the special country focus program . 2013 focused on productions from Turkey, in 2014 short films from the United Kingdom.

In the Cologne window , short films from the Cologne film schools and independent productions from the city are also presented in two blocks. Further special programs of the festival are the festival focus , the series New Aesthetic , which began in 2013 and focuses on life in the digital world and presents films from the Internet. In cooperation with the Cologne children's film festival Cinepänz , the festival also shows two children's programs and offers film workshops for children.

In order to accommodate the filmmakers that the Cologne Short Film Festival is expecting for the festival in Cologne, the 2013 festival established the Adoptiere ein Filmmaker program , in which interested Cologne residents can provide sleeping places for the filmmakers.

The other supporting program includes, among other things, talk and forum events where the festival audience can exchange ideas with the filmmakers.
