Career

Born in Stockholm , Sweden , Kvendbo emigrated to Canada with his family and actively began skiing there. He quickly made it into the national team of Canada. He started internationally for the first time at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 1966 . From the normal hill he landed with two jumps on 54 meters in 61st and last place. Jumping from the large hill went better for Kvendbo, so that he reached 56th place with 62.5 and 59.5 meters.

At the end of the year Kvendbo started in the Four Hills Tournament 1966/67 . After poor results in the first three competitions, he achieved his best individual tour result with 49th place on the Paul-Ausserleitner-Schanze in Bischofshofen . In the overall ranking he reached the 55th place.

At his first Olympic Winter Games in Grenoble in 1968 , Kvendbo, who is now 19 years old, did not get past places 53 and 55 again. After a year of international break, he started to prepare for the World Championship at the Four Hills Tournament 1969/70 . However, he did not get past 76th place overall.

At the following Nordic World Ski Championships in 1970 in Štrbské Pleso he jumped from the normal hill to 69.5 and 67.5 meters and thus finished 62nd. From the large hill, Kvendbo reached 55th place with jumps on 76.5 and 87 meters.

With the Four Hills Tournament 1971/72 Kvendbo started the last time at the Four Hills Tournament . However, he came again only on a weak 70th place in the overall standings. The Canadian finally played his last international tournament when he started at the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo . On the normal hill he finished 44th after a good second run. From the large hill he was able to improve slightly in distance in the second round after rank 43 in the first round, but still fell back to 45th place.

Kvendbo was able to secure the Canadian championship title once during his career.
