Kvitretten is an a cappella group from Norway that is closely related to jazz and is dedicated to improvising and experimental singing .

Band history

The vocal ensemble was founded in 1991 with Tone Åse, Anna Sundström, Kjersti Stubø, Hans Jørgen Støp and Eldbjørg Raknes. All members have completed vocal training at a Norwegian university. The compositions mostly come either from his own pen (Eldbjørg Raknes) or from contemporary Norwegian jazz composers such as Jon Balke or Christian Wallumrød . Since 1994 Kvitretten has been performing in clubs and at festivals all over Scandinavia and Germany. There are also various TV appearances in Norway and Finland. After Anna Sundström (1994) and Hans Jørgen Støp (1995) left the company and the new singer Kristin Asbjørnsen (known from the jazz rock band Dadafon ), who also contributed compositions for the vocal quartet, joined the debut CD Voices a great success in Norway. After the tour that followed, Kjersti Stubø also left the quartet and was replaced in 1997 by Solveig Slettahjell. After the release of the CD Everything turns in 1999, the last CD Kloden er en snurrebass som snurrer oss was created in 2000 as part of an artistic project with the musician and composer Christian Wallumrød and the poet Torgeir Rebbolledo Pedersen , but it was only released in 2002.
