Kjersti Stubø

Kjersti Stubø (born April 25, 1970 in Narvik ) is a Norwegian jazz singer .

Live and act

Stubø studied jazz at the Trondheim Conservatory. As a teenager she performed with her father, the guitarist Thorgeir Stubø and musicians such as Bernt Rosengren , Doug Raney , Tore Brunborg , Vigleik Storaas , Lars Martin Myhre and Odd Børretzen . Between 1990 and 1997 she belonged to the vocal group Kvitretten , with which she was nominated for the Spellemann Prize in 1997 . In 1999 she performed with Herbie Hancock at the Kongsberg Jazz Festival .

Then Stubø led the Kjersti Stubø Band , which includes Anders Bergcrantz , Vigleik Storaas, Olaf Kamfjord and Per Oddvar Johansen . With the band she performed a. a. at the Kongsberg Jazzfestival and released the album My Shining Hour (2001). In 2011 she presented the album How High Is the Sky with MiNensemblet .
