Håkon Mjåset Johansen (* 1. August 1975 in Trondheim ) is a Norwegian Jazz - drummer , known by several publications. He is a sought-after drummer who is valued for his soft and sensitive playing.

Johansen was trained at the Institutt for musikk at the Technical and Natural Sciences University of Norway , where he founded the bands Urban Connection (1996–) and Come Shine (1999–2003) together with fellow students . He also played in the Trondheim Jazzorkester , Bugge Wesseltoft's New Conceptions of Jazz, Siri Gjæres Cricket Club, the Kirsti Huke Quartet and the Ola Kvernberg Trio. He can also be heard on publications with Jon Larsen , the Atle Nymo / Frode Nymo Quartet and Jan Garbarek . Together with Ole Morten Vågan he plays an important role in the band MOTIF.

He belongs to the Håvard Wiik Trio together with Ole Morten Vågan . He toured with Chick Corea in 2000/01 , performed with Jon Gordon at the Oslo Jazz Festival 2006 and in a quartet with Roger Arntzen and Asbjørn Lerheim .

With the trio Urban Connection he won the Norwegian Jazz Talent of the Year award in 1998 ; In 2000 he received first prize at the Avignon Jazz Contest . In 2001 their debut album was awarded the Spelemannsprisen .
