Atle Nymo (* 1977 in Valnesfjord near Fauske ) is a Norwegian jazz musician ( tenor saxophone and clarinet).

Nymo is brother of the jazz musician Frode Nymo . He was a member of the Bodø Big Band under Henning Gravrok and was trained at Jazzlinja (NTNU) . He used to play in the Håvard Stubøs quintet North . He later worked in Ole Morten Vågan's band Motif . In the Next MGN Trio he plays with Mats Monstad and Ketil Gutvik , as well as in its formation Gutvik 5 . He also played in the Trondheim Jazzorkester (tour with Pat Metheny 2001, Moldejazz with Chick Corea 2003), in the Norsk Jazzforum ( Milestones in Jazz ) and with Kaizers Orchestra . He is currently also playing for Helge Sund ( Finding Nemo ).

Nymo released albums with his brother as the Atle Nymo & Frode Nymo Quartet (together with Håkon Mjåset Johansen drums and Ole Morten Vågan bass). His own Atle Nymo Quartet plays with Vigleik Storaas (piano), Magnus Forsberg (drums) and Ole Morten Vågan (bass).
