Per Oddvar Johansen (* 1. March 1968 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian drummer of Modern Jazz , who with Trygve Seim , Christian Wallumrød , The Source , Solveig Slettahjell and Vigleik Storaas worked and six times with the Spellemannprisen was excellent.

Live and act

Johansen initially played rock music before studying jazz at the Trondheim Music Conservatory from 1989 to 1992 . There he began, in the Bodega Band (1990-92, album En flik av ... , 1992), in Airamero since 1990, in the Trio Midt-Norge , in Piggy Bop from 1991, in the Trio by Vigleik Storaas and in the Trondheim Kunstorkester to play. He also began his long-term collaboration with Trygve Seim , including in The Source , but also acted as a drummer in the band Tre Små Kinesere .

After his studies he continued to work in some of these projects, but also performed with artists such as Torbjørn Sunde , Jan Erik Kongshaug , Lars Andreas Haug , Solveig Slettahjell, Kjersti Stubø , Petter Wettre , Jacob Young and in the groups 1300 Oslo , Zanussi Five , the TINGeLING group and the Kjetil Møster / Per Zanussi Trio. In 1994 he went on tour with trumpeter Kenny Wheeler ; the following year he performed with Motorpsycho at the Kongsberg Jazz Festival . He was with Joshua Redman , Arild Andersen and Bugge Wesseltoft at Moldejazz 2006. With Ingebrigt Håker Flaten and Christian Wallumrød he was active in the trio Close Erase since 1995 . He has also recorded with Trond Bjertnes / Frode Barth, The Source , Eldbjørg Raknes , Håvard Wiik , Daniel Rorke and with Hans Mathisen. He is currently also a member of the Helge Lien Trio and Ayumi Tanaka's trio . He can also be heard on Adam Bałdych's album Bridges (ACT Music).

He also taught drums at the University of Oslo and at the Norges Musikkhøgskole .

Prizes and awards

Johansen received the Spellemannprisen five times in the jazz class, namely 1995 (for the album Bilder with Vigleik Storaas), 1997 (for the follow-up album Andre Bilder ), 2000 (for the album The Only Way to Travel by Petter Wettre), 2004 (for the album Silver by Solveig Slettahjell) and 2005 (for the album Quiet Songs by Hans Mathisen) and once in the contemporary music class (2014 for the album Outstairs the Christian Wallumrød Ensembles).
