Kjetil Traavik Møster (born June 17, 1976 in Bergen ) is a Norwegian jazz musician ( tenor saxophone , also accordion, cornet , bass) who played in different genres such as hardcore punk , Coltrane- inspired free jazz , electro rock and doom metal .

Live and act

Møster first learned the accordion as a child , and electric bass as a teenager in a trash / hardcore band. After switching to the saxophone, he discovered the music of John Coltrane, which led him to study jazz at the Trondheim Conservatory. From the 1990s he worked in the Norwegian jazz scene a. a. with the Bergen Big Band , Cosmolodic Orchestra, Crimetime Orchestra and Trondheim Jazz Orchestra . He also played in the formations MZN3, Reflections in Cosmo, The Core, The Indian Core, The Island Band, Trinity, Ultralyd and Zanussi Five around Per Zanussi . He released his debut solo album Blow Job in 2012, followed by Inner Earth (2014). In the field of jazz he was involved in 23 recording sessions between 1996 and 2018.

In 2006 Møster was recognized by the International Association for Jazz Education and the International Jazz Festivals Organization in the category Worlds Jazz Talent of the Year .
