Ståle Storløkken (born February 19, 1969 in Lillehammer ) is a Norwegian jazz keyboarder.

Career

Storløkken studied jazz at the Trøndelag Conservatory of Music from 1988 to 1990. At that time he played in a band called Dr. Schjabert Fjarck & De Frustrerte . In 1989 he founded the Trio Veslefrekk with Jarle Vespestad and Arve Henriksen , whose debut album of the same name was recorded in 1993 and released in 1994. He also worked with other bands such as Piggy Bop (1991), Gunnar Andreas Bergs Supernatural , the Bodega Band (1992), and the group M'boko .

With Christian Wallumrød he wrote the commission Eight Thirty for the Kongsberg Jazzfestival in 1994 ; In 1996 he performed at the Molde Jazz Festival with his own band The Stoken Experience . He recorded albums with Håvard Lund , Anders Kjellberg and Didrik Ingvaldsen and worked with Terje Rypdal , Terje Isungset , Eldbjørg Raknes and the group of Knut Værnes and Lars Danielsson .

Since 1997 Storløkken has been a member of the band Supersilent , which consists of the members of Veslefrekk and Helge Sten and has so far recorded 14 albums ( Supersilent 1-14 ). With the old line-up of Veslefrekk, the album Valse Mysterioso was created in 2004 .

In 2000 Storløkken played on Audun Kleive's album Generator X , the following year on Sverre Gjørvads Denne lille pytten he et hav . In 2004 he released a duo album with Thomas Strønen ( Humcrush on Rune Grammofon ), in 2005 an album with Lisbeth Diers , and the following year he played on Terje Rypdal's album Vossabrygg .

Storløkken can be heard on the 2012 concept album The Death Defying Unicorn by the Norwegian rock band Motorpsycho .
