Helge Sten
Helge Sten (born January 26, 1971 in Røros ) is a Norwegian jazz , rock and ambient musician and music producer who is also active under the pseudonym Deathprod and Audio Virus .
Live and act
As a musician, Sten mainly works with electroacoustic instruments such as ring modulators , tapes and the theremin , and he also plays the guitar. From 1991 he worked under the name Deathprod, under which he presented several recordings until 2004. In 1994 he released the first album Treetop Drive as Deathprod , followed two years later by his second album Imaginary Songs from Tristan da Cunha .
In 1993 he became a member of the rock group Motorpsycho , with whom he first recorded the album Demon Box . In 1997 he performed at the Bergen Jazz Festival with the group Veslefrekk , which included Arve Henriksen , Ståle Storløkken and Jarle Vespestad . In the same year he recorded the triple album Supersilent 1-3 with the group that called themselves Supersilent in the new line-up ; In the following years until 2016 the albums Supersilent 4 to 13 were released.
With Biosphere ( Geir Jenssen ), Sten released the album Nordheim Transformed in 1998 , his album Morals and Dogma was released in 2004, and the remix album 6-track in 2006 . As a producer, he remained associated with the Motorpsycho group. In 1999 he presented the album The Comfort of Objects with John Hegre and Lasse Marhaug . In 2004 he recorded the album Merriwinkle with Sidsel Endresen and Christian Wallumrød . In 2014 he released the album Monochromes under his own name . In 2015 the album Stator was released under the name Deathprod as a co-production with Biosphere . He also recorded with Nils Petter Molvær and his wife, the singer Susanna Wallumrød .
