Kwamena Ahwoi

Kwamena Ahwoi (* 1951 ) is a politician in Ghana . Ahwoi was Minister for Local Government and Rural Development under President Jerry Rawlings . In 1997 he held the post of Secretary of State in the government of the Rawlings Party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the second highest position in government. He founded the Ministry of Regional Integration.

Ahwoi studied law on the Rhodes Scholarship at the University of Oxford in the UK.

Ahwoi is currently a lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and is considered a leading member of the former ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) party.
