John Willie Kofi Harlley

John Willie Kofi Harlley (* 1919 ; † 198?) Was a police officer and politician in Ghana .

Harlley coup on February 24, 1966 against then President Kwame Nkrumah and became one of the eight members of the National Liberation Council (NLC) (1966-1969) and later the three-person Presidential Commission , which in September 1969 the state power in the hands of the freely chosen Kofi Abrefa Busia .

Harlley was Police Commissioner in Accra and was Chief of Police at the time of the coup. As such, he held a key position among the February 1966 conspirators.

Between 1967 and 1968 he also held the position of Foreign Minister as a member of the National Liberation Council.
