Victor Gbeho

James Victor Gbeho (born January 12, 1935 in Keta ) is a leading Ghanaian politician, diplomat and lawyer.

Until 1997, Ghebo was Ghana's representative at the United Nations (UN) in New York. From 1997 to 2001, during the first term of President John Agyekum Kufuor , Ghebo served as Secretary of State and was openly supported by Kufuor's predecessor, Jerry Rawlings . In 2000 he won a parliamentary seat in the Anlo constituency in the Volta Region as an independent candidate . In addition to his long term as Foreign Minister, his origins from the Anlo Ewe people were decisive for the election success.

From February 18, 2010 to March 1, 2012 he was President of the ECOWAS Commission.

Gbeho is a member of the non-executive board of the Ghanaian law firm Minkah-Premo & Co.
