The Kwethluk River is a 137 km long left tributary of the Kuskokwim River in the southwestern interior of Alaska .
The source of the river is in the Wood River Mountains west of Wood-Tikchik State Park . It flows northwest to the confluence with the Kuskokwim River at Kwethluk , 16 km east of Bethel , in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta .
The name of the Eskimos for the river was recorded in 1898 by WS Post of the United States Geological Survey on the basis of statements by John Henry Kilbuck , a missionary of the Moravian Congregation, as "Kwiklimut" or "Kwikluk". The current spelling was introduced in 1915 by AG Maddren, also from the USGS.
