Kylarabes

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kylarabes ( ancient Greek Κυλαράβης , Latin Cylarabes ), son of Sthenelos , was king of Argos in Greek mythology . He was a great-great-grandson of Anaxagoras and is therefore one of the Anaxagorids. His brother was a comet .

Since the Biantide Kyanippos died childless and the Melampide Amphilochos emigrated to today's Amfilochia after the Trojan War , Kylarabes took over sole rule over Argos again. But after he died without descendants, Orestes , the son of Agamemnon , became king of Argos.

A gymnasium in Argos was named after him Gymnasion Kylarabis . His grave was also here.
