The Lágheiði is a high valley with this name and a pass path of the same name in Iceland .
About the Lágheiði leading Ólafsfjarðarvegur of Ólafsfjörður in the northeast of the peninsula Tröllaskagi in the northwest and on the Skagafjörður . This road connection was opened in 1948. The pass reaches a height of 409 m. By Icelandic standards, this is a considerable height above sea level. At the same time, Tröllaskagi is one of the areas of Iceland with the most snowfall, so that the road is often impassable in winter. In summer the road is quite easy to drive, as the gradient is very limited.
The western end is at Siglufjarðarvegur . To the southwest this leads to Hofsós , in the north you reach Siglufjörður . To improve and shorten the connection between Ólafsfjörður and Siglufjörður, the Héðinsfjarðargöng were built between 2006 and 2010.
