Mathias Leitner
Mathias "Hias" Leitner (born September 22, 1935 in Kitzbühel ) is a former Austrian ski racer .
At the Olympic Winter Games in 1960 he was second in slalom on February 24 ; after the first run was only 9th. In the same year he won the slaloms at the Arlberg-Kandahar race in Sestriere , the Lauberhorn race in Wengen and the Harriman Cup in Sun Valley . In 1962 he won the slalom of the 3-Tre race in Madonna di Campiglio .
In 1964, Hias Leitner switched to the US Pro-Ski Tour and was professional world champion in 1966, 1967 and 1968.
From the end of his career in 1972 until 1999 he worked as a trainer in the Tyrolean Ski Association and at the ÖSV , where he a. a. was responsible for the men's team in slalom and then trained the later Olympic champions Leonhard Stock , Stephan Eberharter and Benjamin Raich .
