Léonce Albert Van Peteghem (born October 7, 1916 in Sint-Kruis-Winkel , † January 7, 2004 in Ghent ) was Bishop of Ghent .

Life

Léonce Albert Van Peteghem was ordained a priest on August 18, 1940 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him bishop of Ghent on May 28, 1964. The Archbishop of Mechlin-Brussels , Léon-Joseph Cardinal Suenens , donated him episcopal ordination on June 29 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Jules Victor Daem , Bishop of Antwerp , and André Marie Charue , Bishop of Namur . As a motto he chose IN DEO SALUTARI .

He attended the third and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council .

On December 27, 1991, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
