Lochholz is a small settlement in the part of the district Westernach of the municipality of Kupferzell in Hohenlohekreis in north-eastern Baden-Württemberg .

history

In a deed of donation to the Gnadental monastery, from the town clerk Friderich zu Rothenburg and his wife Anna von Neuenstein, the place is referred to as zu den Lochern .

An executioner lived here in the 17th century, the gallows was located south of Belzhag , the corridor is still called the gallows .

Lochholz came to the patrimonial Obervogteiamt Waldenburg in 1807 and to the community (Schultheißenamt) Westernach in 1809. The place remained with this municipality until 1972.

As part of the regional reform, Westernach merged on January 1, 1972 with the communities of Eschental , Feßbach , Goggenbach , Kupferzell and Mangoldsall to form the new community of Kupferzell.
