Feßbach is a part of the municipality of Kupferzell in the Hohenlohe district in northeastern Baden-Württemberg, named after the village of the same name . It was an independent municipality until the end of 1971.

Geographical location

The village of Feßbach is located about one kilometer east of Kupferzell near the southwest corner of the district marker. This takes up most of the north of the wavy-hilly copper Zeller level between the incision of Kocher tals in the north and east, the lower ash Taler Bach and the high-level trough of the ear Bach in the south and the valley of Künsbach in the north west. In addition to Feßbach itself, there are also the hamlets of Künsbach , Kubach and Rüblingen, all of which are not much smaller than this one, as well as the small Aussiedlerhof group of Bühlingsweiler from more recent times. On the southern edge of the village Feßbach westward pulling Feßbach over.

history

The place was probably created in the 9th or 10th century. It was probably settled from the Kocher valley . In 1319 and 1355 it was mentioned as Velsbach , in 1357 as Fesselspach and in 1524 and 1683 as Fesselsbach . The place has had its current name Feßbach since the 18th century.

Around 1300 the knights of Gabelstein-Enslingen are almost the sole landowners in Feßbach.

1806 Feßbach was the place of the patrimonial office Kupferzell in the Oberamt Neuenstein . The place became an independent mayor's office in 1819.

As part of the regional reform, the municipality of Feßbach merged on January 1, 1972 with the municipalities of Eschental , Goggenbach , Kupferzell, Mangoldsall and Westernach to form the new municipality of Kupferzell.
