location

Marker landmark

Einweiler is located near the municipal boundary almost five kilometers southeast of Kupferzell and about one kilometer northeast of the federal highway 6 , surrounded by the widely open corridor of a barely hilly plateau. The K 2366 runs through the farm group from Untermünkheim- Brachbach in the south-south-west to Kupferzell-Eschental in the north-north-east. Less than a kilometer to the east, the Eschentaler Bach flows north-northeast to the Kocher in its forested hillside valley, which was deepened here for the first time . About a kilometer to the southwest, beyond the single forest of Eichholz, the Waschbach flows in a shallow basin to the northwest to the nearby Kupfer .

history

Einweiler used to consist of four and later three farms. The place is a hamlet on a plateau. It is first mentioned in a document in 1359 under the name Auwenweiler , another earlier name was Auweiler. Originally the place was owned by the von Neuenstein family , but then became the property of the von Stetten family . Einweiler came to the Kingdom of Württemberg in 1806 and was politically assigned to the municipality (Schultheißenamt) Eschental . Together with Eschental, Einweiler came to the newly formed community of Kupferzell on January 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform in Baden-Württemberg .

The Haller Landheeg once ran from Eichhölzle in the west-south- west, where the remains of ramparts and moats can still be seen today, to the upper Eschentaler Bach in the south -east, less than 200 m south of the settlement area on the Kupferzell municipality border, which is moving west-east .
