Lönneberga [ ̌lœnəbærja ] is a small place ( småort ) in Sweden . It is located in the municipality of Hultsfred in Småland, about eight kilometers northwest of the main town of Hultsfred . Lönneberga is administratively with the adjacent site Silverdalen together.
The place is well known from Astrid Lindgren's books . In her stories the writer reports on the life of Michel from Lönneberga . She herself grew up in nearby Vimmerby , which also found its way into her stories.
Oscar Hedstrom , the co-founder of Indian , was born in Lönneberga in 1871.
Lönneberga is on the Nässjö – Oskarshamn railway line .
