The Lübeck sports club Gut Heil von 1876 eV , Lübeck 1876 for short , Gut Heil Lübeck 1876 or Gut Heil Lübeck , is a sports club from Lübeck . The first soccer team played for a year in the highest amateur league in Schleswig-Holstein .

history

On June 16, 1876, some members of the Lübeck gymnastics club resigned from their club and founded their own club, the Gut Heil gymnastics club. In October 1923 there was a split as part of the clean divorce . The game and sport department became independent as Lübecker SV from 1913 . After the Second World War , both clubs merged again to form today's Lübeck sports club Gut-Heil from 1876 . In the pre-war period, footballers and strength athletes were the club's figureheads. The weightlifter Hans Claussen won several German championships and took part in world championships and the Olympic Games. In the 1950s and 1960s, it was above all the athletes who achieved national success.

Football department

Between 1921 and 1933 the footballers belonged to the top division and mostly occupied midfield positions. The greatest successes were fourth places in 1928 and 1930. In 1933 the Lübecker SV was not included in the newly created Gauliga Nordmark , but took part in the Lübeck relay of the Gauliga Schleswig in the last season before the end of World War II -Holstein part. After the Second World War, the Lübeckers belonged from 1948 to the district class south and 2nd amateur league south . After the team had failed in the promotion round in 1954, they were promoted to the Schleswig-Holstein State League five years later .

The team had to relegate immediately as the bottom of the table and missed the return to the Schleswig-Holstein House of Lords in 1963 in the promotion round. In 1968 was one of the founding members of the Association League South in 1876 and was runner-up. Already in 1971 it went back to the district league, where the team was promptly passed through to the district league. The Lübeckers then became an elevator team and are currently (season 2016/17) in the district class B.
