Venues for the canceled 1944/45 Gauliga season in Schleswig-Holstein

The Gauliga Schleswig-Holstein 1944/45 was the third and last season of the Gauliga Schleswig-Holstein of the Reichsbund for physical exercises . The Gauliga Schleswig-Holstein was originally supposed to be played again in a group of 10 teams, but as early as September 1944, due to the war, the Gauliga had to be canceled after a total of eight encounters, which had already been scheduled in the morning hours anyway due to possible bombing attacks. Only the two newcomers from Eckernförde each competed outside their own municipality boundaries, while games between Kiel clubs no longer took place. In Kiel six games were kicked off in Eckernförde and Lubeck each one.

Another attempt followed to play the Gauliga first in the regional seasons Kiel and Lübeck, but these leagues could not be played to the end due to the war.

With the end of the Second World War , the Gauliga Schleswig-Holstein also ceased to exist. Game operations were initially resumed at district level in 1945/46 (sometimes they were referred to as “districts”). In the following year, the highest competition was the Schleswig-Holstein State Championship in 1946/47 and from the 1947/48 season, today's Oberliga Schleswig-Holstein was introduced in three seasons as the highest state division, initially under the name Landesliga Schleswig-Holstein .

Gaume Championship (canceled)

The Gaume Championship, which was originally held on a single track, was canceled in September 1944.

Relay Kiel

In the Kiel area there were two rounds of points of the so-called Gauliga Schleswig-Holstein, relay Kiel, after the Gauliga Schleswig-Holstein season 1944/45 was canceled . A fortnightly alternation between teams from Kiel, Eckernförder and Neumünster was planned, as well as one in which only teams from Kiel should take part. In the end, only one team from the Kiel area was able to take part in the game at times: KSG Eckernförde , which was formed from Eckernförde SV and TVA Eckernförde in September 1944 . According to sources, TSG Gaarden only played in the Kiel city competition. Both competitions were started, but at least the Kieler Umland-Runde was canceled. There seems to have been double scores for both competitions.

Points round with the Kiel area

In his book Encyclopedia of German League Football 1. From the Crown Prince to the Bundesliga from 1890 to 1963, Hardy Grüne gives the following table status for March 1945. The KSG Eckernförde was the only club outside of Kiel .
