The LG Ratio Münster was a German athletics community . It set itself the goal of strengthening athletics as a competitive sport in and around Münster and offered the athletes from the basic clubs a starting and training community.

Since 2014, the athletics community has been called LG Brillux Münster . At the date of the renaming, six sports clubs from Münster and one from neighboring Nottuln were members of the LG Ratio: BSV Roxel, DJK SV Grün-Weiß Nottuln, Telekom Post SV Münster, TG Münster , TV Wolbeck, TSV Handorf and TuS Hiltrup.

history

In the 1960s, the athletics departments of several sports clubs from Münster and the surrounding area got together with some officials, sponsors and active athletes in order to concentrate athletics in Münster and to increase performance. At the initiative of the then long-distance runner Harald Norpoth , the Münster-based trading company Ratio was found with the then company boss Egbert Snoek as the main sponsor and included in the club name. On January 24, 1970 the athletics community Ratio Münster e. V. founded with seven clubs and on March 15, 1970 the Football and Athletics Association Westphalia also recognized the LG Ratio. In 2012 ten clubs were involved in the athletics community. After internal quarrels and the withdrawal of the main sponsor Hendrik Snoek , the future of the athletics community was initially uncertain towards the end of 2012, but was continued in a smaller composition without Prussia Münster , Schwarz-Weiß Havixbeck and the gymnastics club Eintracht Greven.

After a long search, the Münster-based paint manufacturer Brillux was won as the new main sponsor. As of January 1, 2014, LG will take on the role of LG Brillux Münster .
