The LM 27 is the most built motor glider in Europe.
She was built from 1972 to 1985 in a Danish shipyard , LM Yachting, in Lunderskov specifically for sailing in the Baltic Sea . The shipyard emerged from a furniture factory. LM stands for Lunderskov Møbelfabrik. Today, the successor company LM Wind Power blades for wind turbines, u. a. also made in Germany. Most of the boats were sold in Europe, with around a quarter going to the USA, mainly to the Great Lakes area and the east coast.
The designer of the long keel boat was Palle Mortensen.
LM later produced the relatively strongly motorized pointed gate with the same concept in other sizes: LM 23, LM 24, LM 27, LM 28, LM 30, LM 32.
The LM are characterized by a covered driver's platform with standing height, which also houses the pantry . This made LM one of the pioneers of the deck saloon yachts manufactured today.
