Laçyn Mämmedowa (also Lachin Mammedova * 9. November 1980 in Balkanabat ) is a Turkmen pop - musician .

Life

Laçyn Mämmedowa's grandfather and father were folk musicians . She first attended the guitar class at a music school. Then she studied singing in Ashgabat .

During her time in secondary school , she won the regional New Names competition . At the age of 20, she received the title of Honorary Musician of Turkmenistan because of her popularity in Turkmenistan. She was awarded the President of Turkmenistan’s Prize three times and was the winner of the national Golden Age of the Turkmen competition . In 2008 she was nominated for participation in the Intervision song competition in Sochi 2009. Critics attribute their success primarily to the personal favor of President Saparmyrat Nyýazow .

In her art she combines traditional Turkmen and popular musical elements.
