La Vela Puerca
La Vela Puerca is a ska , punk , latin rock band from Montevideo / Uruguay .
history
The band was founded in 1995. In Germany , not least because of their appearances as a support band for Die Ärzte, they became famous. These in turn were already on the road as support for La Vela Puerca in South America ; there the band fills the big concert halls and is considered one of the figureheads of Latin Ska - although stylistically they stray far from classic Ska. In Uruguay in particular , a very present scene has formed since the mid-1990s, which is also represented by bands such as No Te Va Gustar or Abuela Coca .
