action

The film plot follows on from the previous production La momia azteca . Dr. Krupp alias El murciélago ("The Bat") is in police custody . When he is transferred to a prison, he is freed by members of his gang, although a stranger dressed as a superhero in a shiny white costume tries vigorously in an open sports cabriolet to drive away the gangsters , but is knocked down by them. The gangsters shoot some policemen and leave the stranger.

After the attack, the stranger appears surprisingly at Dr. Almada and tells him that Almada's fiancé Flor and Dr. Almada's little brother Pepe from the escape Dr. Krupps. He introduces himself as "El Ángel" (The Angel), who wears a mask to fight evil, because it allows him to do good more effectively. He warns her of Krupp's actions and gives Pepe a radio-controlled wristwatch that Pepe can use to call him for help at any time.

In his headquarters, which has a laboratory , Dr. Krupp came up with a plan to make a second attempt to get to an Aztec treasure that was kept in a pyramid in Tenochtitlan by the Aztec mummy Popoca. With the treasure, Dr. Krupp reward his gang members and continue his prohibited animal experiments with which he wants to become world famous. Krupp explains to his henchmen that Almada's fiancée Flor is the reincarnation of the Aztec princess Xochitl, who illegally loved the famous Aztec warrior Popoca, for which both were horribly punished by the priests. As a mummy, Popoca has to guard the Aztec treasure forever.

To get to the treasure, the gang kidnaps Flor and Anita, their little daughter Dr. Almadas. While Dr. Krupp Flor hypnotizes to learn from her where the pyramid is, Pepe calls El Ángel over the radio clock. He appears in the headquarters of Dr. Krupps, to free Flor and Anita, is overpowered and locked in the death chamber, where he is supposed to be killed by poisonous snakes. He manages to use his radio wristwatch to alert Pepe, who frees him at the last moment.

Dr. Krupp and his henchmen penetrate the pyramid and steal an important breastplate and a bracelet from the mummy, which contains information about the treasure. The mummy comes back to life and attacks the intruders, who are able to escape. Dr. Krupp now forces Dr. Almada to decipher the characters. Surprisingly, the mummy appears at the headquarters and knocks down the gang members. Dr. Krupp is thrown into the death chamber by Popoca, the secret of the treasure is kept. As it now turns out, El Ángel is actually Penacate, the apparently cowardly and feeble colleague of Dr. Almadas. The mummy is now looking for a new place to live, as she can no longer return to the pyramid. Why remains unclear.

Production notes

Both Crox Alvarado (1910–1984) as El Ángel and the henchmen Dr. Krupps were well-known luchadores in Mexico at the time . Some scenes of the movie are from the previous production La momia azteka and have simply been mounted .
