La Mancha de sangre (Blood stain) is a Mexican film from the year 1937 . This melodramatic crime film was directed by Adolfo Best Maugard , who also wrote the script .
action
The bar girl Camelia, played by Estela Inda , works in the Mancha de Sangre revue theater . There she met the unemployed Guillermo ( José Casal ) and made friends with him. They fall in love, but Camelia's pimp cuts the relationship by removing Guillermo from his establishment and denying him further access. Guillermo later returns to the Mancha de Sangre as a successful criminal . With a gang of criminals, including Camelia's pimp, he wants to commit a jewel theft. In the end, Camelia can stop him from participating in this crime. The rest of the gang try to steal the jewels and are either killed or arrested in the process. In the end, Camelia and Guillermo can start their life together carefree from the past.

In La Mancha de sangre is the only film of the artist Adolfo Best Maugard. In 1942 the film was rejected by the censors, but the following year it was probably shown in an edited version. La mancha de sangre has long been considered a lost film. In the 1990s it was found again and partially restored. The version known today still has a running time of 51 minutes. The film was produced by Francisco Beltran, Miguel Ruiz and the APHJH company. In 1943, however, the production company Producciones Mier y Brooks S. de RL y CV took over distribution
